Officially, the brand started in 1999, but the real story began in a living room when founder and designer Tina Lim started sketching out her ideas for eclectic, quirky fashion accessories. Initially meant as commissioned items for her friends, there was suddenly so much demand for her visionary “informal chic” creations that she thought, let’s make this a proper business.

 

Almost three decades later, StrangebutCool continues to live up to its name of delivering the unexpected – finding harmony in chaos and simplicity in complexity. Fabrics clash, unusual materials are used (old school shirts and bottle caps, anyone?), sizes and designs are irregular (who said both earrings have to look the same?) and everything may seem a little strange… but always cool. Always eye-catching. Always statement-making.
